Day 04
Srinagar - Pahalgam (102 kms / approx. 3½ hour drive)
In the early morning, depart for Pahalgam, known as the "valley of shepherds," nestled at the confluence of streams from the Lidder River and Sheeshnag Lake. Along the way, visit the ancient Awantipura ruins, a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, built by King Awantivarman over 1100 years ago. Upon reaching Pahalgam, immerse yourself in the natural beauty or take a stroll to Baisaren, a charming village surrounded by pine and fir forests, offering breathtaking views. Later, return to Srinagar, passing by willow trees and fast-flowing streams, where you can leisurely stroll or enjoy pony rides (at your own expense) before an overnight stay at a houseboat.
